FOSTER FILES (90 DOG FIANCE PROGRAM)

Fostering Saves Lives
Every time someone opens their home to a foster pet, they give that animal a second chance. Whether it’s a scared pup needing a quiet place to decompress or a senior dog waiting for adoption, fostering bridges the gap between rescue and forever.

And if you’re located in the Midwest or East Coast and would like to open your home to a dog in need, we’re always looking for compassionate fosters — please reach out to us!

Felony & Shelton have been reunited after a year!

Felony made the trip to her foster home in PA and was reunited with her VRC boyfriend Shelton, who was adopted a year ago! They didn’t skip a beat, and have been enjoying each others company. 🙂 Stay tuned for updates on Felony and her journey to her forever home.

Gnocchi also made it to his foster home, and is adjusting great! We are excited to see him flourish in a home setting. Stay tuned for updates on Gnocchi, if interested in adopting him: https://www.vrcpitbull.com/dogs/gnocchi/

THE ADOPTABLES

These dogs are currently available for adoption.

If they have been “virtually adopted” that means that their adoption fee has been covered by their virtual adopter for an approved application.

Meet Imelda (HAS A VIRTUAL ADOPTER)

Imelda’s past is one we wish no dog had to endure. She stumbled upon our staff from a dog-fighting situation, a tight chain locked so cruelly around her neck that every movement made her cough and gag. Her small body was covered in both fresh and old wounds, and at first, she reacted with fear and aggression—until we realized the truth, she was deaf.

Imelda has so much love to give, and we know the right home is out there for her—a family that will embrace her quirks, celebrate her joy, and give her the forever she deserves. Because Imelda is deaf, she needs a home with respectful, older kids who understand how to coexist with a dog who experiences the world a little differently. Sudden touches or unexpected movements can startle her, so a family willing to learn how to communicate with her in a way that makes her feel safe is exactly what she needs.

Kim Possible

She is our tiniest resident. All 30ish lbs of her!

Named after the cartoon hero, Kim Possible, she has blossomed into a brave little girl, although at times can be a little shy. But it doesn’t take but a minute for her to warm up and run up to everyone and shower them with hugs and kisses.   So here is what “KP” will need in the way of the right home to fit her needs.

First and foremost, she needs to be the only fur face in the home. Although she is polite with other dogs when out and about, she can be a little spicy when other dogs get too rambunctious with her.  So we have to insist that there are no other dogs or cats in the home.  But on a good note, KP is good with kids (around 10 years and up) but she is spunky and likes to run around and play.  So I think she would be a little too much for smaller children although she would love to play with them, I just don’t  think that they would have as much fun as she.  When KP gets the zoomies, you’d better run! Ha!

KP is perfectly crate-trained and LOVES to go for car rides.  She is the ultimate road dog!

Second chances aren’t just for people… they’re for dogs too.

Meet Bushwacker (IS Virtually Adopted)

Meet Bushwacker 🐾
Bushwacker is a stunning 2-year-old Rottweiler mix with a heart full of love and a spirit made for adventure!

He’s currently participating in our Prison Dog Program in Pennsylvania, where he’s been working hard and learning all the tools he needs to be “paw-roled” into a forever home. 😉

Bushwacker is both kid- and dog-friendly, enjoys scenic car rides, and is always ready to explore the world by your side. Whether it’s a hike, a road trip, or just hanging out with his people—he’s your guy.

Ready to give this handsome adventurer the forever home he deserves?

Adoptable Seniors at VRC

Dogs 10+ are apart of our Senior Dog Program

Senior Progam: they are covered medically by us at VRC for the remainder their life.

Saturn (Senior Progam, Needs a Virtual Adopter)

Meet Saturn – a 12-year-old Lab/Chow mix with a heart full of sunshine and a whole lot of spunk left to share.Don’t let the number fool you — Saturn is still full of life and love. He enjoys the finer things: basking in the sun, car rides with the windows down, and leaning into his human’s side for all the affection he can soak up. One of his favorite games? “Catch me if you can” in the yard, where his playful spirit truly shines.

Saturn would do best in a home with no other animals and older kids who understand that he’s earned his peace and space.

We don’t know how many years Saturn has left — but we know that every day with him is a gift. He’s looking for someone to share their heart, their home, and their couch. Could it be you?

Meet Johnson (NEEDS a Virtual adopter, Senior Program)

Meet Johnson 💛 The Sweetheart You’ve Been Overlooking

At 11 years young, Johnson is the perfect mix of adventure and affection. Found as a stray many years ago, this lovable guy has been patiently waiting... and waiting… for someone to see the gentle soul he truly is.

Johnson is crate trained, respectful in the house, and has mastered the art of being chill—with just the right dash of curiosity. With his nose to the ground and the sun on his back, he’s always ready to sniff out his next backyard expedition. (We’re pretty sure there’s a little hound dog in him somewhere!)

☀️ Whether he’s soaking up the sun or curled up next to you with his head on your lap, Johnson just wants to be close to his person. He’s a world-class snuggler and will happily be your coffee companion on the porch, your movie buddy on the couch, and your most loyal friend.

Johnson prefers to be your one and only pet—but we promise, the love he has to give is more than enough to fill your home and your heart. He is also apart of our Senior Dog Program, which means his medical is covered by us at VRC by the rest of his life.

After years of being overlooked, could this be Johnson’s moment?

🥓☀️ Yup, it's that time again… BREAKFAST TIME! ☀️🥓
And no, we’re not talking waffles — we’re talking about our amazing, spunky senior girl, Breakfast! 🍳🐾

Yup… its Breakfast AGAIN (Senior Program + Virtually Adopted)

She may be in her golden years, but don’t let that fool you — this girl is full of sass, goof, and heart. Breakfast loves people, thrives on cuddles, and is especially great with kids — always gentle, always respectful. House manners? Check. Perfect car buddy? Double check. She’ll ride shotgun with her head out the window, ears flapping in the breeze, just living her best life.

We are determined to find this sweetheart the loving home she deserves to enjoy her golden years in comfort, joy, and lots of snuggles.

📩 Apply today or share to help her find her forever home!: https://www.vrcpitbull.com/dogs/breakfast/

VRC SPONSORSHIP PROGRAM

At Villalobos Rescue Center, we are dedicated to provide lifelong care and love to dogs and cats that face significant medical or behavioral challenges , making them unlikely candidates for adoption. Our Sponsorship Program offers a meaningful way for our supporters to contribute to the well-being of these “lifers” through monthly donations. While becoming a sponsor, you help us with the essential care, as well as medical costs.

VRC dog sponsors get access to a private Facebook group moderated by Tia, Katie & Jenna.

Wild Turkey

🦃 Wild Turkey Needs Sponsors! 🖤

Affectionately known as “Turks,” this boy has been through it. While his body has healed, the emotional scars still linger. Turkey struggles to trust anyone outside of his small, safe circle — which is why he now lives with Jenna, where he feels secure and understood.

Because of his special needs, Turkey requires constant enrichment, structure, and love. He thrives on routine, attention, and his favorite things: peanut butter, long-lasting chews, and care packages from kind humans like you.

Want to support Turkey from afar?
💛 Become a sponsor!
You can help cover his ongoing care and spoil him by shopping from his very own wishlist. Every treat, toy, and donation helps make his world a little brighter.

🐾 Let’s show Turks that healing takes time — and love makes all the difference.

Say hello to our majestic mix of wild spirit and loyal heart! Each week, we shine a light on our incredible wolf-dogs — sharing their story, personality, and how you can help support their care.

At our beautiful sanctuary, we care for over 40 wolf-dogs — each with their own story of heartbreak, survival, and strength.

While their pasts may be filled with pain, they all share one powerful future:
a forever sanctuary where they are safe, loved, and free to be who they are.

Be a part of their journey.

💖 Follow their stories on Facebook and TikTok to see the wild beauty, quiet moments, and the unwavering love that defines life at our sanctuary.

📲 Follow along, share, and help us spread awareness for these misunderstood souls.

Forever wild. Forever safe. Forever home.

The Brothers: Jack & Frost Need Sponsors

Jack & Frost

Jack & Frost came from a backyard breeder situation, rescued as puppies in Ohio. From there, their journey took them to a rescue in Kentucky, but it quickly became clear that the facility wasn’t equipped to care for these unique boys. Another rescue in Wyoming stepped up, only to realize wolf-dogs were illegal in their area. That’s when we got the call.

Without hesitation, we made the long trek from Texas to Wyoming to bring them safely to our sanctuary.

Still shy and wary of new people, Jack & Frost are slowly learning to trust—thanks to the patience and dedication of our incredible team.

These stunning brothers will never have to worry about being separated again. They now have a forever home here at our Texas sanctuary, where they can live out their lives in peace, together and safe.

Our Kajun Kitties Need Sponsors

💛 By becoming a Kajun Kitties sponsor, you’ll help cover food, vet care, and daily needs — and ensure your sponsor cat gets the love and support they deserve.

We are desperately low on community cat food — located on our TNR Supply Wishlist — and go through 7–10 bags a week feeding multiple cat colonies. These cats depend on us, and we depend on you.

And with kitten season in full swing, we’re already drowning in tiny meows. 😿 Our Kajun Kitties need all the help they can get—especially food and litter.

Whether you’re supporting our TNR efforts or sending love to our shelter cats, every donation makes a difference.

📦 Shop directly from our Wishlists (found in our Linktree below) and help us care for the cats who need us most.

💛 Thank you for always showing up for them.

🐾 RESCUED BY RECOVERY:

Saving Dogs,

Healing Humans 🐾

At Villalobos Rescue Center, we’ve always believed in second chances—for the dogs we rescue and for the humans working to rescue themselves. That belief is at the core of everything we do, and it’s what inspired our new podcast: Rescued by Recovery, hosted by our very own Katie and Perry.

𝑺𝒆𝒂𝒔𝒐𝒏 2 𝒐𝒇 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑫𝒓𝒚 𝑪𝒂𝒖𝒍𝒅𝒓𝒐𝒏 𝒊𝒔 𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒆.

This first episode is both a catch-up and a reset — an honest update on what’s changed, what’s ended, and what’s just beginning.

It marks a new chapter — not just for the podcast, but personally. One shaped by growth, boundaries, and healing!

Catch up with this quick podcast!

🦴 Is it safe to share your food with your dog?

Sometimes yes, but often no. While it's tempting to give your pup a taste of what you're eating, not all human foods are safe for dogs. Some can cause mild stomach upset, while others can be downright dangerous — even life-threatening.
