THIS WEEK AT VRC

SMALL ACTS OF KINDNESS GO A LONG WAY

I wanna take this time to thank everyone who’s donated time, money, supplies, or just helped spread the word about our mission. Seriously, we couldn’t do any of this without you! Whether it's taking a dog for a walk, giving a few bucks, or sharing a post, every bit really does add up and make a difference. You’re helping these dogs heal, find happiness, and eventually their forever homes, and that’s huge. Thanks for being part of our pack and for everything you do to give these pups the life they deserve!

TOO CUTE NOT TO SHARE

VRC SPONSOR PROGRAM

Kelsey

KELSEY NEEDS A SPONSOR

Meet Kelsey, a resilient little survivor whose journey touched all our hearts. First spotted in a Mississippi gas station parking lot with her back leg turned backwards, it was clear she’d been through something terrible. Locals had been feeding her, but she remained too scared to approach anyone. When we received her photo, we knew we had to help, and after some advice from VRC's own Lizzy, a kind-hearted woman borrowed a trap and finally rescued this lost angel. Kelsey arrived at VRC, where she underwent life-saving surgery, but her fear of the world remained.

Just when we thought there was no hope, a miracle happened. Desiree, one of our longtime employees, stepped up to foster Kelsey, welcoming her into a loving home filled with other senior dogs and “unadoptables.” Now safe and surrounded by friends, Kelsey has blossomed in Desiree’s care. Although Kelsey remains timid with others, she’s found her forever home at Dez’s house, where she will be loved and cared for along with the rest of VRC’s “oldies but goodies.” Kelsey needs a sponsor to help cover her ongoing care, so if you feel moved by her story, consider joining her journey by becoming her sponsor and supporting her new life.

CITY BEAT

From City Warehouse Manager, Jenna:

We have some wonderful news to share! One of our longtime favorites, Poncho, is heading to his forever home this weekend. He’ll be joining the family of a previous adopter, and we couldn’t be more thrilled for him. Poncho has been with us for a while, capturing the hearts of everyone here, so this is a bittersweet goodbye. We’re beyond excited to see him embark on this new chapter and can't wait to receive updates on his new life and adventures with his forever family.

Poncho

Meanwhile, we're still hard at work moving our dogs to the new country property and breaking down the warehouse. It's a huge transition for us and the dogs, but we’re confident that this move will provide an even better environment for our rescue efforts.

And we couldn’t be prouder of the VRC kids, who recently set up a booth at their school's Fall Fest! They took the opportunity to spread the word about our adoptable dogs, sponsorship programs, virtual adoptions, and our YouTube channel. Watching them share the mission of rescue with their peers was truly inspiring. Their passion and excitement were contagious, and they did a fantastic job raising awareness and educating their school community about the work we do. It was a joy to see the next generation stepping up and sharing the message of rescue!
