THIS WEEK AT VRC
THE MOTO MAIDENS
The Moto Maidens wrapped up their New Mexico charity ride, stopping by Pitties and Kitties in Albuquerque for a photoshoot to showcase their adoptable dogs, as well as visiting Española Humane and 4 Corners Wolf Dog Sanctuary and Rescue. The ride was a huge success, thanks to the incredible support from the dog-lovers community and the sales of Moto Maidens charity ride t-shirts, with all proceeds going directly to these amazing rescues. A special shout-out goes to the badass all-female motorcycle group, The Litas, who stepped up and offered Mariah a bike to complete the trip after hers was stolen before they even hit the road! It really does take a village!

90 DOG FIANCE FOSTER FAIL
One of the few times we hope for failure! Shelton, one of our dogs in the new foster program "90 Dog Fiance," has found his forever home! We are thrilled to announce that his foster family has decided to adopt him, which means he won’t be returning to our kennels here at VRC.
If you’re interested in becoming a foster family through our 90 Dog Fiance program and would like more information, email: [email protected].
Congrats to Shelton and his new family!!!

THE ADOPTABLES
Verde
Meet Verde! This adorable 9-month-old lab mix may be a little shy when you first meet him, but he warms up quickly and will soon show you his playful, goofy side. He's a sweet pup who gets along well with other dogs and is surprisingly well-behaved for his age. Verde is ready to bring joy and laughter to a family who will love him for the fun-loving companion he is. Could that be you?
Kit
Kit is a sweet 4-year-old girl who may be small, but she’s got a big heart—especially for kids of all ages! Kit needs to be the only pet in her future home, but she’ll make up for it with endless affection. She’s happiest when she’s out for walks or running through nature. If you’re looking for a loyal, active companion, Kit is ready to join your family!

VRC SPONSOR PROGRAM
Rollo
ROLLO NEEDS A SPONSOR
Rollo’s life was once confined to a chain, devoid of the warmth of human touch. Rescued by the dedicated team at the St. Landry Parish Animal Shelter in Opelousas, Louisiana, Rollo initially needed a catch pole for his safety. Now, as he gradually emerges from his shell, he’s learning the joys of play and adores toys of every kind. Though he remains cautious around people, it seems that a permanent home with us is just what he needs. With your sponsorship, Rollo can continue to heal and thrive in an environment where he feels secure and loved.

HAVE YOU HEARD AT VRC?
We’re overwhelmed with the incredible support our virtual adoption program has received, which has been a true lifeline for both us and the dogs at our rescue. This program provides vital support ensuring our dogs live happy, healthy lives while with us until they find their forever homes.
When you virtually adopt a VRC dog, you’ll receive:
A welcome email
Your name featured under their bio on our website
The ability to send care packages to your dog
An invite to our exclusive VRC virtual adoption group, where you’ll get inside info, pictures, updates, and more!
We’d also love to highlight Breanna, one of our dedicated repeat virtual adopters, whose ongoing support has made a real difference for many dogs! Here’s what she had to say about the program:
My Name is Breanna I have rescued 4 dogs of my own. I have been a fan of Villalobos for many years. I have sent money donations and items off of their wish list over the years so when I came across their post on Facebook about becoming a virtual adopter I knew I wanted to become a part of the program. I have virtually adopted 3 senior dogs so far. Puff was my first who sadly passed from heart failure. Then I adopted Kahlua and now I have also adopted Pajamas. I knew helping senior dogs would be my priority. I wish more people would join your program and show dogs love while waiting on their forever home. This is a great opportunity for people to help a dog even though they're not available to adopt. I will continue to adopt and help more dogs find a loving homes. Thank you.
Breanna
HAPPILY FUR-EVER AFTER SPOTLIGHT
Creole's journey was a bit of a rollercoaster. Originally adopted from VRC, he seemed to have found his forever home. But sometimes, life throws unexpected challenges, and Creole was returned. Despite the setback, this resilient pup has kept his spirit high, and found his perfect match.
Creole's life has been nothing short of a dream since being adopted by Cherry and her husband in 2018. He’s the apple of their eye and has seamlessly become part of the family—so much so that Cherry jokes Creole thinks he's human! A true local celebrity, Creole regularly attends baseball games and gets stopped for pets by everyone who sees him. He loves every bit of the attention. When he's not soaking up the limelight, Creole enjoys relaxing on the couch or going on family vacations with Cherry and her husband. Thanks to their love and care, Creole is truly living his best life.
