Gnocchi and Chanel are still patiently waiting for their forever homes. Could you be it?
Both are currently in foster homes, and doing absolutely amazing. Looking for a dog-friendly and cat friendly dog? Gnocchi is your guy!
Looking for a middle aged dog thats move in ready? Well mannered, perfect in the house, crate trained but trustworthy enough to leave out in the house, Chanel is your girl.
Chanel is a loyal lovebug who bonds deeply with her humans. She can be a bit timid in new situations and needs a little time to feel safe, especially around unfamiliar men. But once she knows she’s home, her true personality shines through.
PRISON DOG: READY TO BE PAW-ROLED

Spears
📍 Currently in our Prison Dog Program in PA, but don’t worry we deliver across the US!
Spears is one of those once-in-a-lifetime dogs. She doesn’t need a million toys or constant activity—she just needs you. Someone who’ll love her, guide her, and let her be the affectionate, loyal girl she’s meant to be.
Spears gets along well with other dogs and has never shown any issues with food or toy guarding. Spears adores her people and would spend every minute by your side if she could. She warms up slowly to strangers, especially men—but once she trusts you, she’ll be your biggest fan. She’s gentle and appropriate of kiddos.
She’s fantastic in a home environment—no chewing up your shoes or destroying your furniture. Spears is also fully crate trained, as well as a calm passenger in the car.
🧠 Super Smart: Spears knows all her basic commands and some fun ones too—like “play dead”! She can even follow nonverbal cues.
⚠️ Heads Up: Spears is a high jumper and super fast! She may be able to clear a 5ft fence, especially if it has footholds—so secure fencing or leash walks are a must.
Interested in adding Spears to your family? Apply here: https://www.vrcpitbull.com/dogs/spears/
She’s ready to be your everything.
THE ADOPTABLES
These dogs are currently available for adoption.
If they have been “virtually adopted” that means that their adoption fee has been covered by their virtual adopter for an approved application.

Chupic (Needs a Virtual Adopter)
We won’t sugarcoat it—Chupic is not the easiest dog to place. But for the right person, he’s going to be an amazing companion.
At 9 years old, Chupic has perfected the art of being the main character. He’s confident, he’s always happy, and when he gets excited… he hops. Yes, you read that right. Full-body, all-four-paws-off-the-ground hops like he’s got invisible springs in his feet. It’s ridiculously adorable, and honestly, we’re all obsessed.
Now, let’s get the fine print out of the way—Chupic is not a fan of other dogs. Or cats. Or kids. In fact, he’d prefer to be your one and only, and trust us, he’s got enough personality to fill the whole house. He loves people, and his two biggest joys in life are toys and cuddles (and possibly proving that gravity is optional). The only thing Chupic doesn’t love? Medical stuff. Nail trims? Nope. Vet exams? Big nope. But don’t worry—it’s all manageable with a muzzle and some experienced handling.
We know this narrows his potential adopters, but we also know that the right person is out there. Chupic needs a home with an experienced, confident handler who understands dog behavior, is willing to work within his boundaries, and can give him a structured, loving environment. He may not be the easiest dog, but for the right person, he’s 100% worth it.
While he waits for his perfect home, we would love for someone to Virtually Adopt him.

Perkins (Needs a Virtual Adopter)
At just 1.5 years old, Perkins is already stealing hearts with her sweet nature and goofy charm. She’s confident, dog-friendly, and loves people of all ages—she’s truly everyone’s best friend.
Perkins is the queen of belly rubs (just wait until she flops onto her back with that adorable smile!), and she has a signature head tilt that’ll melt your heart. Her love for toys is unmatched—she’ll happily entertain herself for hours! Oh, and those big, expressive ears? Let’s just say she’s got top-tier “satellite reception.”

Sopa (Needs a Virtual Adopter)
Meet Sopa- aka Soupy-San, a Certified Good Boy| Peep Professional | Snack Enthusiast
Soupy-San has been patiently waiting… and waiting… while the world keeps moving around him. His sister was adopted years ago, but Soupy? He’s still here! Loyal, loving, and overlooked.
He’s the kind of dog who always does what he’s supposed to, as long as you let him bring his emotional support toy along. His lips get a little stuck on his teefs sometimes, but honestly, it just makes him more kissable.
He is an expert Peep-er, even when hes busy he makes sure to know exactly where you are. He is also a fantastic car ride co-pilot! Soupy is also a snack-driven life coach: “Do what you love… but do it faster if snacks are involved.”
He loves people, is unbothered by cats (he’ll walk away if they’re not into him, such a respectful king), and he’s cute in that goofy, warm-souled, cuddle-muffin kind of way.
Soupy-San doesn’t ask for much. Just someone to finally choose him!

Silver Snoots
Adoptable Seniors at VRC
Dogs 10+ are apart of our Senior Dog Program
Senior Progam: they are covered medically by us at VRC for the remainder their life.

Superman (IS Virtually Adopted & apart of our Senior Dog Program)
Superman came to us heartworm positive (99% of our dogs have heartworm upon intake) in 2016. As we began the preliminary treatment, he went into what is called “caval syndrome” which is a sudden advanced stage of the heartworm. The worms clog up the main artery to the heart and the rest is too graphic to explain. Let’s just say it is a matter of minutes, maybe slightly longer before the dog will die unless emergency surgery is done.
Fast forward to now, and Superman is now a senior at 11 years and 2 months young, and still waiting for his forever home. He is Virtually Adopted, as well as apart of our Senior Dog Program so both his adoption fee and medical care is covered by us at the rescue for the rest of his life.
His Virtual Adopter signed him up for a fun car ride, and you can see him absolutely loving it. https://youtu.be/bjLmpDmlIKo?si=ap2Xje9_eMJvzXZE

And no, we’re not talking waffles — we’re talking about our amazing, spunky senior girl, Breakfast! 🍳🐾
She may be in her golden years, but don’t let that fool you, this girl is full of sass, goof, and heart. Breakfast loves people, thrives on cuddles, and is especially great with kids — always gentle, always respectful. House manners? Check. Perfect car buddy? Double check. She’ll ride shotgun with her head out the window, ears flapping in the breeze, just living her best life.
We are determined to find this sweetheart the loving home she deserves to enjoy her golden years in comfort, joy, and lots of snuggles.

Willie & River
Meet Big Willie & River: The VRC Lovers
Big Willie, a gentle giant, was found in rough condition on the streets of New Orleans in the middle of the night years ago. While his physical wounds have healed, his emotional scars have left him uncertain around strangers. Recognizing his need for a stable environment, and extreme discomfort with unknown people, we’ve made Villalobos Rescue Center his forever home.
During his time with us, Big Willie met River, and the two have become inseparable. Their bond is a testament to the resilience of the dogs we rescue and the love they can find, even after enduring hardship.
River was born into our care at Villalobos Rescue Center. Due to severe anxiety and trust issues, she has faced challenges in becoming an adoption candidate. Despite these hurdles, River has formed deep bonds with her dedicated caretakers and, most importantly, with Big Willie.
Their connection has provided River with the love and companionship she desperately needed and she is over the moon with her forever home here with us.
Becoming a Sponsor for Big Willie and/or River you are helping us with their daily needs and medication for the rest of their life.

Sponsor Q: The Unbreakable Spirit
Some souls are carved from the very essence of the wild, their spirits woven with the wind, their destinies bound to the land that bore them. Q is one of those souls—a creature not made for cages, not shaped by human hands, but by the untamed whispers of the earth itself.
He was born of this place, his paws pressed into the dust of Texas long before fate intervened. When the time came to send him away—to a well-meaning rescue beneath the vast Wyoming sky—it was believed he could adapt, that his wildness could be quieted by walls built with kindness.
But what no one understood was that Q’s wildness was not a thing to be silenced. It was not a matter of appearance or lineage. It was not something that could be reasoned with. His wildness was his soul, his very breath, an unshakable truth that no place could contain him except the one that had always been his home.
In Wyoming, they tried. They placed him inside a beautiful, towering yurt—a space meant to offer warmth, safety, security. But to Q, Harriet and Makita it was nothing more than a cage. The walls pressed in, stealing the sky from their view, cutting therm off from the earth that had always been their sanctuary. And so, he fought.
The yurt could not hold him, not when his heart roared for the open air. He clawed, he tore, he refused. His rebellion was not defiance—it was instinct, an unrelenting call back to the only world he had ever truly known.
And so, we brought him home.

Now, back where they belong, Q, Harriet and Makita are whole again together moving through this land like a shadow, the wind at their backs, the sun painting their path in gold. Q does not wander, because he was never lost. He does not rage, because he was never meant to be tamed.
Q is not just a survivor. He is a guardian, a testament to the power of instinct, to the truth that some spirits belong only to the wild. And here, in Texas, beneath the sky that has always been his, he is exactly what he was always meant to be—free.

Asha is officially added to our Kajun Kitty sponsorship in hopes that while she unwinds and learns to trust us, that she can also feel the love and support from our amazing supporters.
She has started to warm up to one of our cat caregivers, Danielle and is slowly coming around.
Learn more about her story and sign up to sponsor her here: https://www.vrcpitbull.com/dogs/asha/

Asha
Newest Kajun Kitty: Biscotti
We received a call from animal control about an abandoned cat in a house.
The landlord walked into his house after his tenant left to find a cat that they didn't know about. When the landlord called the wife to let them, they forgot their cat she said that was her soon to be ex-husband's cat and basically not her problem. She took her dog with her.
Biscotti was alone in the house for over a week before she was found. She was scared and hungry and hiding inside the bathroom wall. She is a very sweet, long-haired cat, we don't know how anyone could just abandon her like that.

Welcome Biscotti
Don’t forget we have multiple Kajun Kitties apart of our Kajun Kitties Sponsorship Program. All of these cuties will live out their lives with us, so becoming a sponsor for them helps us with their daily and medical care.
