We kicked off the year on a high note—Daffodil, Janna, and Bondurant officially headed off and made it to their forever homes 🏡💛 AND seven beagles/hounds packed their bags and made it safely to one of our rescue partners to begin the next chapter of their journey!

And trust us… the behind-the-scenes magic doesn’t stop there. 🎬

CAN’T ADOPT BUT WANT TO HELP OUT? 

At Villalobos Rescue Center, we are dedicated to provide lifelong care and love to dogs and cats that face significant medical or behavioral challenges , making them unlikely candidates for adoption. Our Sponsorship Program offers a meaningful way for our supporters to contribute to the well-being of these “lifers” through monthly donations. While becoming a sponsor, you help us with the essential care, as well as medical costs.

Slick was just diagnosed with large cell lymphoma, and our hearts are breaking. 
Slick is a 12-year-old pit bull who has spent nearly his entire life with us here at Villalobos Rescue Center. From the very beginning, this sweet boy carried more anxiety than any dog ever should. He would break out of kennels, crates—anything he could—often hurting himself in the process. Not because he was “bad,” but because the world felt too big, too loud, and too overwhelming for him.

Then something beautiful happened.
One of our incredible staff employees opened her home to Slick and for the first time in his life, Slick exhaled. He finally felt safe. And he bloomed.

Because of his lifelong anxiety and how he copes with stress, Slick has always been an extremely difficult adoption—despite being such a gentle, loving soul. And now, at 12 years old, with this diagnosis, we don’t know how much time we have left with him.

What we do know is this:
Every single day Slick has will be filled with softness.
With spoiling.
With dignity.
With love.
