THIS WEEK AT VRC

Dear Friends of Villalobos!

Exciting News: Introducing Our 90 DOG FIANCE´ Foster Home Program

As you may know, hurricane season here in South Louisiana is a reality that brings with it a unique set of challenges and fears. Each year, the looming threat of storms and the impact they can have on our community—and our beloved dogs—creates a sense of urgency and concern. This year, we’ve taken a new approach to ensure the safety and well-being of our canine companions by launching our inaugural foster program: 90 DOG FIANCE´.

We’re delighted to announce that ten compassionate families have stepped up to provide temporary homes for a group of our dogs. These dedicated fosters will be caring for our dogs for 90 days, allowing them to go north for the season and prepare for their hopeful fur-ever homes.

Support Our Mission with 90 DOG FIANCE´ Shirts

As we continue to support this program, we’re excited to offer our new 90 DOG FIANCE´ shirts. For each shirt sold, you’re helping us purchase approximately 4 gallons of gas, which goes directly towards transporting these dogs to their foster homes and ultimately to their fur-ever homes.

But that’s not all—when you purchase a 90 DOG FIANCE´ shirt, you’ll also receive an exclusive invitation to our private Facebook group for the foster dogs. In this group, you can follow their journeys, see the incredible progress they’re making, and witness firsthand the difference your support is making.

Ambria’s Adventure: Surf’s Up! 🏄🏼‍♀️🤙🏼🐾

One of our 90 DOG FIANCE´ fosters, Ambria, is a 4-year-old female with a zest for life and a love for the water. Ambria came to us in horrible condition. Her mouth had been duct-taped shut, and she was emaciated due to not being able to eat and drink for a long, long time. Even though she was abused, her resilience and continued love for humans prevailed.

Ambria’s foster family is helping her explore new experiences. She has recently shown off her doggy paddle skills 😂 , as she joined her foster mom and brother aboard a paddle board! Watching her embrace the adventurous life is a joy. Ambria thrives in an active family environment, enjoys outdoor adventures, and gets along well with other dogs. Hang 10, Ambria! 🌊🌴

Does Ambria sound like the perfect addition to your family? She just might be! Our foster program only keeps the dogs in their homes for 90 days. Please help us find a fur-ever home for Ambria before November 20th so she doesn’t have to return to kennel life here at VRC. Wishbone’s Happy Ending: Our First Official Foster Failure! 🥰

We have some heartwarming news to share about Wishbone—he has officially been taken "off the adoption market" by his foster home. We’re overjoyed for this funny little guy and thrilled to see him finding his forever home with his foster family. It’s a wonderful reminder of the profound impact our foster program can have.

VRC SPONSOR PROGRAM

Bathory

BATHORY NEEDS A SPONSOR

Don’t let the name fool you—Bathory, affectionately known as “Werepup,” started life as the fiercest little pup around, always ready to take on the world! From her wild beginnings, she was fearless and full of spunk. But as time passed, the sweet nature of her mama, Shasta Mae, began to shine through.

Now, this once wild child has grown into the calmest and kindest girl you’ll ever meet. Bathory loves spending her days playing with her pack, whether it’s the Hounds, the Pit Bulls, or anything else on four legs. She’s proof that even the wildest hearts can find their peace.

To sponsor Bathory, or any of the other dogs in our sponsor program, click below.

VRC dog sponsors get access to a private Facebook group moderated by Tia.

WHAT’S NEW AT VRC?

The Rabid Reality is the name I gave my little online production company. Over the past year, we’ve had to make some significant updates, and since I feel like we’re finally getting everything back on track, I wanted to take this opportunity to remind you about the important changes in how you can access content.

🚫 We have shut down the Rabid Reality App on both the Apple Store and Google Play as well as on the streaming options, Roku and Firestick. These platforms will no longer work for accessing our content.

You can still access all of our Rabid Reality content on the subscription based platforms, Patreon and YouTube (there is more to come on YouTube!).

🤚 If you signed up via he Google Play store please contact us for specific instructions on how to proceed.

To learn more and/or to sign up to follow our content AND to get ahold of me if you are having problems with past Rabid Reality issues, go to my production website: The Rabid Reality

Remember, all monies from subscriptions and donations go 100% to support the dogs of Villalobos!

Through The Rabid Reality, you can continue to enjoy all of the Villalobos & Tia Torres content, including the online spin-off for "Pit Bulls & Parolees," now called "Life with the Underdogs". Also check out our new series featuring the next generation of VRC called “VRC Kids”, along with many other shows and podcasts.

And as always, thanks so much for your continued support. The dogs and I appreciate it more than you know.

CITY BEAT

FROM JENNA AND KYLE

The Unyielding Challenge: An Overwhelming Influx

Despite our intake being closed, we are still facing the heartbreaking reality of dogs being dumped at our doorsteps. The number of dogs being abandoned has surged, placing an overwhelming strain on the rescue’s resources. Each dog that arrives in need is a reminder of why our work is so vital, yet the constant flow of animals needing rescue is both exhausting and heart-wrenching.

A Special Case: Gramps & Galvez

Among the recent arrivals is a senior dog we’ve affectionately named Gramps. From the moment he arrived, it was clear that Gramps had once known the comfort of a home. His gentle demeanor and affectionate nature reveal a lifetime of love. Unfortunately, Gramps was dumped without a second thought, a stark reminder of the cruelty some pets face.

Gramps was found roaming outside the rescue with another dog we named Galvez, on one of the hottest summer days. Galvez is young, but unfortunately ended up being heart worm positive. We searched the neighborhood and posted both dogs on local lost dog pages, but unfortunately no one has come forward to claim them.

This week, we were able to move Gramps and a few other city dogs to the country location, where he can enjoy a more serene environment. The transition to the country setting provides Gramps with a chance to experience the peace and relaxation he so much deserves.

Gramps

As we climb this uphill mountain, our hearts remain full of hope. We know that with your support, we can continue to make a difference in the lives of these incredible dogs. Thank you for being a part of our journey and for standing by us as we strive to create a better world for every dog in our care.
