URGENT FOSTER OR ADOPTIVE HOME NEEDED
This sweet Bluetick girl was found on a rural highway with a broken leg. She’s about to undergo surgery thanks to a group of kindhearted donors, but after her recovery, she has nowhere to go.
As much as Blueticks are my weakness, my home is already full, and we’re also in the process of closing down our New Orleans location, finding space for our dogs elsewhere. Rescues everywhere are so overwhelmed, and this girl really needs the peace and comfort of a home environment to properly heal.
If you can open your heart and home to foster or adopt this deserving girl, please reach out to Friends of Pound Pets in Acadiana directly. Let’s give her the loving recovery she deserves!
Howls and Ghouls,
Tia Torres
THE ADOPTABLES
Boyfriend
Meet Boyfriend! This 4-year-old ball of energy is ready to be your adventure buddy. Boyfriend is happiest when he's active and especially when water’s involved—whether it’s a pool, a shower, or any splash-worthy spot, he’s all in! With his enthusiasm for life and love of water, Boyfriend would be a perfect fit for an active family looking to add a playful, water-loving companion to their lives.
Castle
Castle is a 1.5-year-old lab/pit mix who is a social butterfly with a big, bubbly personality and a heart full of love for everyone he meets. Castle adores toys, is always up for a splash in the water, and loves to play with other dogs who can keep up with his playful energy. He’s crate trained, well-behaved at home, and while storms can make him a little nervous, he finds comfort in cuddling close to his favorite person. If you’re looking for a sweet, happy-go-lucky companion, Castle is ready to make your home complete!

VRC SPONSOR PROGRAM
@villalobosrescue Hubert Needs a Special Kind of Home #villalobosrescuecenter #dogsoftiktok #houndsoftiktok
HUBERT NEEDS A SPONSOR
Hubert arrived in heartbreaking shape, his health strained by severe heartworm disease. Although he’s just completed the final stages of treatment, he’s still in recovery, and his future adoptability remains uncertain due to his weakened heart. To give Hubert the personalized attention he deserves, he’ll soon be joining our prison dog program—not for training, but to offer companionship to an elderly inmate who shares a deep love for hounds. This special bond promises comfort and connection for both Hubert and his new friend as they embark on this healing journey together.
VRC dog sponsors get access to a private Facebook group moderated by Tia.
WHAT’S NEW AT VRC?
I recently tried the lavender-scented cleaner for our dog crates, and it's been a game changer—the calming scent actually seemed to relax the dogs! I'm officially hooked and already ran through our only bottle.
If anyone’s able to donate, we’ve set up an Amazon Storefront where each purchase for us also gives a small commission to the rescue. Every bit helps right now, and the dogs appreciate it! You can check out the cleaner here or browse our full storefront here.
And just a reminder: make sure to swap out your address for ours (VRC, 5541 Hwy 1, Napoleonville, LA. 70390) during checkout! Thank you for supporting the dogs in such a meaningful way.
HAPPILY FUR-EVER AFTER SPOTLIGHT
Vampirella’s journey to her forever home is nothing short of miraculous. She arrived at Villalobos in critical condition—limp, pale, and unresponsive, brought in by a man who claimed he’d found her after she was hit by a car. Her condition was so dire that she needed three blood transfusions. Hookworms and fleas were literally draining the life out of her, inspiring the name "Vampirella." But she proved to be a fighter, pulling through with each day of care and healing.
Now, in her new life, Vampirella’s transformation is incredible. Her days are filled with sun and sand as she frequents the beach, embracing every moment of her newfound freedom. She even got to attend a professional soccer game, winning the hearts of everyone she meets. From near death to a life full of adventure and love, Vampirella’s story is a true testament to resilience and the power of a second chance.
