Meet Audria – A True Survivor Looking for Love!

Audria’s story began when a kind-hearted Good Samaritan found her taking shelter on their porch. She was named after this amazing person who saved her, and from the moment she arrived, we knew she was something special. When Audria came to us, she was severely emaciated, battling hookworms, and heartworm positive. But with time, love, and dedicated care, she has made a full recovery and is now ready to start the next chapter of her life! Audria is the definition of a sweetheart—she adores everyone she meets, is incredibly dog-friendly, and has a passion for car rides (especially if there’s a puppuccino involved!). Her beauty isn’t just skin deep; she has the most loving soul, and we can’t understand why she hasn’t been chosen yet.

To make it even better, Audria had a virtual adopter, which means her adoption fee is covered for an approved applicant!

Just moved from our sponsorship program to adoptable! This spunky brindle boy is ready to find his forever home! Eclipse LOVES everything and everyone—he struts through the neighborhood with a goofy grin, ready to greet every human and dog he meets before breaking into some epic zoomies out of pure excitement for life. It’s clear he was once someone’s pet, which makes it even harder to understand why he ended up stranded on one of the busiest roads in New Orleans. Maybe his puppy-like personality was a bit too much for them—but for the right person, it’ll be pure joy. Eclipse is incredibly smart and working on mastering the art of less is more when he’s excited. He’s looking for an active home full of adventure—one where he can burn off his energy, then crash on the couch with you for a movie night (and, of course, share some snacks).

Over the last two months, we’ve been having a blast with our monthly Virtual Adoption BINGO for our adoptable dogs! The goal? Get each dog virtually adopted, score a BINGO, and—at best—clear the board! And guess what? For Mardi Gras, we got our first BLACKOUT! 🎭💜💛💚 

Every single dog on the board found a virtual adopter! Since kicking off Virtual Adoption BINGO, we’ve added 25 new dogs to our program, giving more of our rescues the love and support they deserve. 🐈‍⬛ The Kajun Kitties 🐈

February was a great month for the cats of VRC. We were able to complete two cat transports to Pope Memorial SPCA of Concord Merrimack County in New Hampshire, sending a total of 22 cats to find loving homes. Many of the cats from our first transport have already been adopted, and the second group, which arrived on February 27th, should be going up for adoption this week!

Meanwhile, we’ve been hard at work with TNR (trap and release) efforts, focusing on a local colony of 14 cats ahead of kitten season, which is just around the corner.

We still have plenty of amazing cats available for adoption, including Samurai, an affectionate 11-month-old male kitten who would love a home of his own.
